Home Again

We just returned last night from our yearly trip to the bustling metropolis of Huntington, Indiana, where we enjoy time catching up with our family and eating so many peanut butter balls that we lost track (on the second of those things by we I mean I, since Michelle is far more disciplined than I am and I would be in an eternal doghouse if I fed Isaiah anything with peanut butter in it (although he has to eat ice cream since heÂ’s so skinny and he loves that crap!)).  It was a good trip and nice to see everyone, but once you have kids things that used to be relaxing cease to be so.  By the time we landed back in Denver I think we were both about ready to pull a Robin Hood and kiss the ground, Isaiah included (this is to say nothing of our affection for Indiana, but living out of a suitcase with a child isnÂ’t the most fun thing in the world, or even second).

But all that said it was a good trip and I have numerous fond memories.
1.  My parents took us to their new favoritrestaurantnt in the whole world, Don RaphaelÂ’s, or just “The Don.”  DonÂ’t worry Los Amigos, youÂ’re still #1 in my book.
2.  I stayed up until 3 a.m. on New YearÂ’s, which I think is the best IÂ’ve done since sometime in college.  Ironically I was with two of my friends from college.  Coincidence?  I think not.
3.  Isaiah learned to wave, and by wave I mean stick his hand out and hold it up for about 5 minutes.  But he is waving because he now does it to almost everyone he sees.
4.  I got the chance to whup up on my brother-in-law in ping pong.  Sorry David, I couldnÂ’t help it.
5.  I have the feeling no one cares about these except me, so IÂ’ll move on.

Thanks to all our family for a great trip.  We really do love and miss all of you.
